Follow Your Own Sun

Where do I begin? I was left speechless for awhile after I finished this book. In a good way. I am still struggling with writing this review without spoilers in it. I want to tell you everything. Staying true to the Hale Brothers I fell in love with Matt. His story is one of loneliness and devastation... Self discovery and growth... Acceptance and forgiveness. Elle is his match made in heaven. He needed her presence to show him what his heart was capable of. However, she does not come without her own struggles. Holding on to an identity that was chosen for her was breaking her down.... Physically and mentally. Add to that the fear of constantly being watched and having your safety threatened was the last straw. You could feel the anxiety coursing through her pour out of the pages. Running was the only solution to saving what little sanity she had left.
This book had me in tears. For the boy who never felt the embrace of unconditional love, and for the man who doubted his self worth.

As always Kathryn has given us two very damaged characters and brought them together in a cataclysmic eruption of emotions. I cannot wait to see what else your brilliance creates.

Yet another beautiful story in the series

You know that bittersweet moment when one of your favorite series’ ends? It’s wrapped up in a gorgeous little package, with all of the t’s crossed and i’s dotted, but your heart still hurts? That’s me tonight. I’m not ready to let the Hale Brothers go. I. Just. Can’t. Do it! As far as conclusions to a series go though, Unforgettable Sun was top of the line. It was emotional in the best and worst (not bad, just a bit painful) sort of ways, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Andrews absolutely did not disappoint.

I couldn’t wait to start Matt’s story. You fall in love with his character in the previous books, because he was so young and went through so much in his short years. Unforgettable Sun fast-forwards over time a bit, and you’ll see him as an utterly broken man. It’s heartbreaking, and you’ll feel for him from the get go. If there’s one thing above all else that Kathryn Andrews is amazing at (there are PLENTY of others though. She’s a rock star), her ability to make you not only connect, but truly love her characters is it. You feel Matt’s pain, isolation, and internal conflict. You’re there with him as he tries to make the right decisions, and you’ll feel it from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Although most of the emotion will be right in your heart – demolishing it, mending it, and feeling the outpouring of love from Elle. I love that Andrews doesn’t place an easy, plain heroine with Matt. Elle has her own issues and secrets, but she also feels…out of sort. Not in the right place. Unhappy with life. However you want to say it, but you see what I mean. Seeing these two sort their individual problems, with no shortage of hesitation and frustration but with the support and love of one another is hopeful and so very beautiful. I just fell in love with these two together, as well as apart. They go through many trying times, but handle it exactly as you’d hope they would.
As always, Andrews is so classy, so eloquent, and her writing is flawless. In each story, she brings something new to the table but it always has that Kathryn feel. Unforgettable Sun is no different. She’s so great at telling a story in a way that blends emotion, humor, and passion perfectly. She doesn’t need an abundance of cuss words or overly detailed sex scenes. She can suck you in and leave you biting your nails from just the emotion on the pages.

And and and…we get to see Drew and Beau! Especially Beau. *Insert happy dance here!* Ah, my sweet, romantic Hale Brothers. I just love them so. You really dive much deeper into what Matt and Beau’s relationship specifically entails. They really make for the most wonderful family, and their love and acceptance of one another shines through.

Overall, as sad as it makes me for it to be over, it ended perfectly. It all comes full circle, and questions that you may have had from book one or two will be answered. It’s a whirlwind romance that will take your breath away. I’m so in love with Matt, Elle, and the entire family, and can’t wait to see parts of their lives popping up in future books. I’m just not ready to let go. Good thing books can always be reread, so the Hale Brothers are here to stay. Whew.

About the Author
Norman Unrau is a Professor at California State University, Los Angeles, in the Division of Curriculum and Instruction, where he teaches a course to beginning teachers that addresses literacy and learning in content classrooms. He also serves as Coordinator of the MA in Education with a focus on middle and high school curriculum and instruction and facilitates MA candidates' pursuit of certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. He served as editor of the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, a publication of the International Reading Association for educators interested in the development of students' reading and writing. For several years he served as a University Coach to develop literacy and learning in a large urban middle school in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Confused no more

I have had alot of mixed feelings over the years about the loss of my foreskin. At times I was mad at my parents for doing this to me. I saw my dad in the shower once, and he was uncut. Ohh how I wanted to touch it feel it and experience it as god intended. This book has helped me come to terms with what was done to me. I am taking steps to restore my foreskin. This is sometimes painful but well worth it. My "friend" is supporting of my endeavor and is stretching his skin too. Maybe in a couple years we will have almost complete skins. All our friends in the lifestyle will be jealous. I havent tried to hurt myself or anything but I understand why someone may. This book has opened my eyes and give me the courage to confront my disability.

Well worth a read

WARNING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT. This book is very educational. It gives a history of circumcision that is very informative. For example: ancient circumcision was different from modern circumcision. Originally only the very tip of the foreskin was removed NOT most or all of it as is now done. It IS possible to regrow your foreskin BUT it will not be exactly like your original foreskin. Though sex WILL be better. Read the book. You will enjoy it.

Soooo much more than erotica! But that is awesome too!

Volume 2 in the Druid Breeders series was amazing! Following on with the lovable characters and their journeys in a turbulent unstable time for the Druid women and their vampire protectors the Reapers. Super sexy scenes, confronting and disturbing scenes, action , adventure and intrigue is what you've got to look forward to!
I'm writing a longer and more detailed review but let me just say that I commend Marata's writing ability. She sure knows how to tell a story.
