Kid's stories of MineCraft is OK for young kids

My 8yr old son loves the book.
I noticed many misspellings that could have been fixed with simple spell check.
The stories were decent for a little boy, hence the appropriate kid's stories title. Definitely not good enough quality for teenagers.
I would have given it a lower rating if my son didn't love it so much. At the end of the day, that's who we bought it for.

This book is terribly written, like it was written and and edited by children. There are so many glaring typos and on top of that the stories just aren't very good. I would have given it less stars but my 7 yo Minecraft-obsessed son seems to like it somewhat.

Very Useful Sample Programs

As an embedded programmer, I bought this book for the sample programs to show me different, and possibly better, ways of programming the PIC microcontrollers. I was not disappointed; the book contains dozens and dozens of sample programs, in Assembly and C, for almost all of the peripherals available for the PIC18 series. However, there was no information on programming for the CAN (Controller Area Network) bus.

While this book appears to be aimed at beginners, I think you must be somewhat familiar with the PIC18 series in order separate out the many errors and mistakes from the wealth of truly useful information.

Warning! This book contains many inaccuracies. I've only finished the first two chapters but I already have serious concerns about using this book. As someone who has worked with PIC microcontrollers for over twelve years, I was taken aback by the fictitious history presented. About the only things that are accurate here are the dates.
Terminology is sometimes inaccurate (the term file register references each eight bit RAM location within the data memory). I have never seen any Microchip document that refers to built-in EEPROM data memory as RAM.
I'll reserve final judgment until I've finished reading (I'll submit and update), however I thought persons with less experience should be warned.

Elementary Algebra Concepts and Applications

I found this book to be somewhat hard to comprehend, and this is possibly because I've been unable to truly grasp the concept of algebra this first year. (Many eons ago when I was in school, algebra was not required and I did not take it). I would have liked to have had more examples broken down in a step by step fashion for the beginner student but all in all, the book was ok. The book's cover and interior pages were in very good condition.
